The 1,161 in attendance at Donald R. Dizney Stadium were treated to an exciting game that featured several clear momentum changes and an overwhelming amount of talent on the field.
Florida (16-4, 5-0 ALC) struck first early on with a goal from ALC Player of the Year Kitty Cullen. However, as would be the story of the game, Duke (15-4, 4-1 ACC) answered back quickly and repeatedly, jumping out to a 6-3 halftime lead.
Despite a thrilling second half comeback, the Gators fell short in their quest to make the NCAA Tournament Final Four. Florida was plagued by mistakes late in the game that gave Duke several possessions in a row. The Blue Devils scored the game’s last five goals, effectively sealing the 13-9 win with three minutes remaining.
