The No. 3-ranked Florida gymnastics team opened the 2012 home season with a 196.175-191.875 win against Illinois-Chicago on Jan. 13, 2012 at the O'Connell Center in front of 4,796 fans. UF freshman Kytra Hunter won the all-around competition with a score of 38.925.
The Gators swept teach event. Ashanée Dickerson won the vault with a 9.9 score. Alain Johnson won the uneven parallel bars with a 9.9 score. Marissa King took the balance beam title with a score of 9.925. Hunter took the floor exercise with a score of 9.925.
