Many fans began to queue up outside the Stephen C. O'Connell Center as early at 4:30 a.m. on Sunday morning in anticipation of the Gators' annual preseason Verizon Wireless Football Fan Day.
An estimated turnout of more than 6,000 fans got autographs from the 2009 Florida football team, cheerleaders and Gatorettes on posters that were supplied by the University Athletic Association.
