Super Photo Gallery: UF football vs. Georgia, 10/31/09 : JACKSONVILLE -- In front of a Halloween crowd of 84,604 at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium Saturday, the No. 1 Gators defeated Georgia, 41-17, in the 87th meeting between the two SEC Eastern Division rivals. Under clear and sunny skies, Gator senior quarterback Tim Tebow, a Jacksonville native, helped lead the Gators (8-0, 6-0 SEC) to victory, surpassing UGA’s Herschel Walker for sole possession of the SEC record for rushing touchdowns (50) with a minute and a half to go in the first half following a 23-yard touchdown scamper. With a four-yard touchdown run in the third quarter, his 51st career touchdown, Tebow moved into third place in Southeastern Conference history for the most touchdowns, rushing and receiving, ever scored, behind Walker (52) and Kevin Faulk of LSU (53). Tebow finished the day 15-of-21 with 164 yards and two touchdowns through the air, while rushing 18 times for 85 yards and two touchdowns on the ground. The Florida defense, which tallied a season-high four interceptions in the victory, was led by senior linebacker Ryan Stamper, who also hails from Jacksonville, and redshirt junior linebacker A.J. Jones’ (Tampa, Fla.). With Jones’ interception to start the second half, the UF defense has now intercepted a pass in 19 of Florida’s last 20 games. Jones didn’t stop with one interception, but picked off another UGA senior quarterback Joe Cox pass at the end of the third quarter, his third interception in the last two games. Senior wide receiver Riley Cooper had a pair of touchdown receptions from Tebow. Florida sophomore kicker Caleb Sturgis kicked a career-high 56-yard field goal. The boot was the second-longest field goal in school history. Georgia fell to 4-4 (3-3 SEC) with the loss.

Super Photo Gallery: UF football vs. Arkansas, 10/17/09 : In front of a Homecoming crowd of 90,508 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium Saturday, the No. 1 Florida Gators defeated Arkansas, 23-20, with a game-winning field goal in the closing seconds to improve to 6-0 (4-0 SEC). With its win, Florida kept a nation-leading 16-game win streak alive. The Razorbacks fell to 3-3 (1-3). Senior quarterback Tim Tebow added to his illustrious career after connecting with redshirt sophomore Deonte Thompson on a 77-yard touchdown pass with just over two minutes to go in the third quarter. The play marked a career-long for both, as Tebow became the SEC record holder in touchdown responsibility, with 123 (75 passing, 48 rushing), to pass former Gator great Danny Wuerffel. Tebow finished the day 17-of-26 for 255 yards in the air with one touchdown pass and rushed a career-tying 27 times for 69 yards on the ground. Junior tight end Aaron Hernandez led the Florida receiving corps with a career-high seven receptions for a career-high 92 receiving yards. With 3:08 left in the game, Arkansas’ kicker Alex Tejada missed his second field goal of the game, a 38-yard attempt, turning the ball over to the Gators on their own 21-yard line. With the clock running down, Tebow connected three times with senior Riley Cooper, handed off twice to Demps and carried the ball six times as Florida marched downfield for a 27-yard game-winning field goal by Sturgis, resulting in the final margin, 23-20, in favor of Florida.

Super Photo Gallery: UF football at MSU, 10/24/09 : STARKVILLE, MISS. -- Top-ranked University of Florida went into Starkville on Saturday night and came away with their first win at Mississippi State since 1985, as they held on for a 29-19 win and improved to 7-0 on the season and 5-0 in the Southeastern Conference. The Bulldogs moved to 3-5 overall and 1-3 in conference play. Florida owns the nation’s longest winning streak at 17 games, and has now won nine straight SEC road games, dating back to the 2007 season. UF improved to 7-0 for the first time since the 1996 season and went 3-0 against SEC West teams for the first time since 1998. Senior quarterback Tim Tebow led UF with 127 yards passing and 88 yards on the ground, including a 26-yard touchdown run that tied Hershel Walker’s SEC record of 49 rushing touchdowns. Redshirt sophomore running back Chris Rainey added 90 yards on the ground and one touchdown and also blocked a punt for the Gators. The Florida defense stepped up once again and limited the Mississippi State offense to two field goals and 237 yards. They held the Bulldogs without a third-down conversion until midway through the fourth quarter and intercepted quarterback Tyson Lee three times. The Gators also held Mississippi State running back Anthony Dixon to a season-low 53 yards rushing after entering the game averaging 116 yards on the ground.

Super Photo Gallery: UF football at LSU, 10/10/09 : In front of a record crowd of 93,129 at Tiger Stadium, the No. 1 Florida Gators (5-0, 3-0 SEC) took down the No. 4 LSU Tigers (5-1, 3-1 SEC), 13-3, Saturday, extending the nation’s longest active 15-game win streak on the road. The Florida win snapped LSU’s Saturday night 32-game win streak as the Gators held the Tigers to just 162 yards total offense in Baton Rouge. Senior quarterback Tim Tebow completed 11-of-16 passes and threw one touchdown in the victory. Junior tight end Aaron Hernandez led the UF receiving corps, reeling in six receptions for 70 yards, while sophomore athlete Jeff Demps amassed 86 yards on 16 carries to lead Florida on the ground. Senior linebacker Brandon Spikes finished with a team-leading 11 tackles and 2.5 sacks.

Super Photo Gallery: UF Football at Kentucky, 9/26/09 : LEXINGTON, KY. --- The top-ranked Gator football team improved to 4-0 overall and 2-0 in the Southeastern Conference with a 41-7 victory at Kentucky on Saturday evening at Commonwealth Stadium in Lexington. The Gators were sparked by a record-breaking first quarter, in which they jumped out to a 31-0 lead, amassing 223 yards of total offense, compared to Kentucky’s -1 yard. The Gators were led by senior quarterback Tim Tebow, who finished the night five-of-10 for 103 yards and one touchdown pass. Tebow surpassed his previous season-high rushing yardage mark in the first quarter against UK, tallying 79 yards. He finished the game with 123 yards on 16 carries with two touchdowns, marking the first 100-yard rushing performance by any Gator this season. His two rushing scores, the 47th and 48th of his career, propelled him to own sole custody of second place in the SEC record book for all-time rushing touchdowns. Tebow left the game during the third quarter after suffering a concussion on a sack, which caused him to fall backwards and hit the back of his head on offensive lineman Marcus Gilbert's knee. A crowd of 71,011 fans cheered the sack, but quickly fell silent when Tebow did not stand up. Tebow was motionless on the field for a few minutes as team medical personnel attended to him. Super Photo Gallery: UF football vs. Tennessee, 9/19/09 : A school-record 90, 894 fans from The Gator Nation gathered at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium Saturday to watch the No. 1 Florida Gators (3-0, 1-0 SEC) defeat the Tennessee Volunteers (1-2, 0-1 SEC), 23-13, in the squads’ first game of 2009 SEC competition. With the win, UF set a new school record with its 13-game win streak. Under head coach Urban Meyer, the Gators are now 5-0 against Tennessee. Florida accumulated 208 yards through the air, led by senior quarterback Tim Tebow, who completed 14-of-19 passes and also ran for 76 yards and one touchdown, the 46th of his career, tying for second most in SEC history with LSU’s Kevin Faulk (1995-98). Redshirt sophomore Chris Rainey put together 64 yards on the ground on nine carries, while junior tight end Aaron Hernandez led the Gators with four receptions for 26 yards.

Senior quarterback Tim Tebow connected with three different Gators in the air, completing 10-of-15 attempts for 188 yards and one touchdown in less than a half of play. Additionally, Tebow scored on a one-yard quarterback keeper to kick off the second quarter. Photo Gallery: Gator Charity Challenge, 7/31/09 : The University of Florida football team held its second annual Gator Charity Challenge event Friday evening at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in front of a crowd of 2,500 fans from The Gator Nation. The charity fundraiser, which was initiated prior to the 2008 season, featured the 2009 Gator squad challenging each other in a series of three strength competitions, including the tire flip, sled push and obstacle course. Florida fans watched as the Gator football players, divided into six teams, went head-to-head at the three competitions, each team representing one of six Shands Hospital-affiliated charities: American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Children’s Miracle Network, March of Dimes, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the North Florida Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure. One event shy of completion due to inclement weather, redshirt senior Gator Charity Challenge captain Cade Holliday and his team, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, pulled out the win in the strongman challenge. Gator fans were able to pledge donations to any of the six charities via pledge cards located inside Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Additionally, representatives from each charity were on hand to educate and promote awareness of their respective causes.
