SEC Baseball Tournament: Gators vs. South Carolina, May 22, 2008 : Hoover, Ala. -- Gator Country was the only Florida media outlet to send a photographer to the SEC baseball tournament. Here's an exclusive gallery of more than 110 images from the Gators' 11-3 loss to South Carolina on Thursday at Regions Park. The loss eliminated UF from the SEC tournament without a win for the first time since 1995. The Gators will now await the NCAA Baseball Tournament Selection Show on Monday at 12:30 p.m. to find out where and when they will next play. Third-seeded Florida (34-22) matched USC with ten hits in the game, but left eight runners on base and committed three errors in the loss. South Carolina (38-20) scored five runs in both the second and eighth innings to put away the Gators. Florida starter Billy Bullock (4-4) lasted only 1.1 innings, allowing six hits and five runs. Freshman Tommy Toledo was impressive in relief, holing South Carolina to one earned run in four innings. Senior Josh Edmondson pitched the final 2.2 innings, allowing five unearned runs. Cole Figueroa and Matt den Dekker each had three hits for the Gators while Brandon McArthur had two RBIs. South Carolina pitcher Nick Godwin (7-3) earned the win by pitching seven innings and holding UF to three runs. Mike Cisco pitched the final two innings to notch his first save of the season.

SEC Baseball Tournament: Gators vs. Vanderbilt, May 21, 2008 : Hoover, Ala. -- The Florida baseball team fell to Vanderbilt 7-3 in its opening game of the 2008 SEC baseball tournament. Only Gator Country sent a photographer from Florida to cover the action. Here's an exclusive photo gallery of 133 images from the action. A crowd of 6,027 fans at Regions Park were in attendance for the first session of the tournament Florida starting pitcher Patrick Keating suffered his first loss of the season as his record fell to 8-1. Vanderbilt starter Mike Minor improved to 6-2 while Russell Brewer earned his sixth save. UF had two hits from Brandon McArthur and Jon Townsend in the game, totaling 14 hits. McArthur’s double was the only extra-base hit for either team. The Florida bullpen allowed only one run off of Kyle Mullaney, as Tony Davis, J.K. LaCoste and Clint Franklin kept the Commodores off of the scoreboard. The Gators (34-21) will face South Carolina (37-20) at 11am EDT on Friday in an elimination game.

Photo Gallery: Baseball at South Carolina, May 2008 : Columbia, S.C. -- Gator Country was the only Florida media outlet to send a writer or photographer to cover the Gators' SEC baseball series against the Gamecocks. Here's an exclusive gallery from all three game of 200 images! Florida won 9-3 on Friday behind strong pitching from freshman starter Tommy Toledo and an impressive 5.1-inning relief performance by Billy Bullock. The Gators had 12 hits in the win to capture their first road win on a Friday night this season. The Gamecocks took advantage of a couple of defensive miscues to capture Saturday's game 6-5. USC pitcher Will Atwood pitched his first career complete game to earn the win. Avery Barnes had three hits, and Riley Cooper hit his first career home run for the Gators in the loss. South Carolina (33-15, 13-11 SEC) won the rubber game on Sunday 9-6 behind some timely hitting. Florida (28-18, 13-11) got another three-hit performance from Barnes while Cooper hit another home run in the loss. The Gators were making their final visit to Sarge Frye Field, as the Gamecocks will move to a new stadium in 2009.

Baseball Gallery: Gators top FGCU 2-1, 3/11/08 : A Gator Country exclusive 120 photos from the UF baseball team's 2-1 win against the FGCU Eagles on Tuesday. In a game that only lasted an hour and fifty minutes, two minutes short of a school record, a lot of action was packed in. Both teams got excellent pitching and made several outstanding defensive plays. Florida sophomore shortstop Cole Figeuroa drove in both Gators runs by hitting a solo home run in the fourth inning and hitting a sacrifice fly to score the winning run in the eighth inning. Senior pitchers Stephen Locke and Josh Edmondson pitched very well. Edmondson earned the win out of the bullpen by throwing three no-hit scoreless innings. Locke struck out five batters and did not allow a walk in six innings of work. Senior first baseman Brandon McArthur batted 2-for-2 to break out of a recent slump, and junior Avery Barnes scored the winning run after hitting a one-out triple in the eighth inning.

UF Baseball takes 2 of 3 from Brown, March 8 & 9, 2008 : Nobody covers the Florida baseball team closer than Gator Country. This photo gallery of more than 200 images from the Gators' weekend series against the Brown University Bears puts you on the field for the action as UF won the final two games to improve its record to 10-3. Freshman Riley Cooper recorded his first collegiate hit during Sunday’s 13-2 win on a pinch-hit RBI double. The Gators jumped out to a 9-0 lead after two innings, providing freshman pitcher Tommy Toledo with plenty of run support to improve to 2-0. Florida won Saturday’s nightcap 8-7 when Avery Barnes delivered a pinch-hit single to drive in Bryson Barber with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth inning. The Gators trailed 3-0 in the fourth and 7-2 in the sixth before tying the score with a three-run seventh. Sophomore Clint Franklin (2-0) threw a career-high four innings without allowing a run to earn the victory. Brown, the defending Ivy League champions, won Saturday’s opener 11-2 on the strength of 12 hits and four costly UF errors.

UF baseball vs. Campbell, 3/4/08 : The Gators fell behind by three runs after sophomore Matt den Dekker made his collegiate pitching debut, but roared back to score 15 unanswered runs and improve to 7-2 on the season. All nine Gator starters contributed at least one hit to the team’s 17-hit outburst. Junior Avery Barnes batted a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs and while den Dekker was 3-for-5 with three runs and two RBI. Florida posted a season-high in doubles (five) and sacrifice flies (three) and also turned a season-best five double plays without committing any errors. Senior reliever Josh Edmondson (1-0) matched a career high with 4.1 innings (2 H, 3 K) for his first victory since March 24, 2007 at Auburn, while the UF bullpen tossed 6.1 scoreless innings.
